Jeri Johnson

GEOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL ASSET CONSULTANT
As Weir Consulting’s longest serving team member, Jeri participates in our operational management and strategic planning. She contributes to developing and organizing global teams, creating and implementing new procedures, and deploying technology updates. Jeri is pro-active in managing our business office operations and maintaining outstanding client relations.
Jeri has held various roles of increasing responsibility in client services, account management, human resources, inventory control and contracts management. In her current role, Jeri manages client contracts for exploration and geophysical activities and has a strong focus on contract governance. She knows that effective management ensures regulatory compliance and identifies risks. To guide priorities and track progress, Jeri maintains monthly reports, communicates with legal teams and works closely with geophysical directors.
Before joining Weir Consulting, Jeri held data management and project management roles with Katalyst Data Management (formerly Kelman) and Explora Seismic Solutions. Her responsibilities included managing and maintaining seismic databases, managing broker contracts and coordinating between vendors, clients and data processors.
Jeri has formal education and experience in accounting, business administration, contract management and human resources.

Rick Merkl

GEOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL ASSET CONSULTANT
Rick Merkl provides a wealth of operational knowledge and experience to oil and gas data management. He has worked for several industry-leading companies to develop, implement and maintain procedures and best practices that ensure data integrity.
Rick specializes in defining the architecture for solutions and creating deployment roadmaps that are standards based and business focused. His objective is to provide a quality product that meets the needs of our clients and impacts bottom line profits.
Since data is central and integral to efficient and successful operations in the upstream sector, Rick continually evaluates processes to ensure project efficiency. He understands the intricacies of the data and systems, and dives deep to identify and diagnose issues. He implements corrective and preventative actions that optimize operational performance.
As a data management expert, Rick works in all areas of data management and is an excellent resource for mentoring and training. He has knowledge in software product management, system architecture design and implementation, business process consulting, workflow analysis and optimization, project management and team leadership.
Before joining Weir Consulting, Rick held numerous management positions with Geco Geophysical, Schlumberger, PGS, and Landmark. He led an ISO certification initiative, and the development and implementation of best practices on divisional and global levels.
Rick has formal training and expertise in areas such as business process mapping, project management (PMI), contract negotiations, Computer Science, ISO 9001, PetroBank®, Exploration Archives™ and ArcGIS®.

Justin Hirtzel

GEOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL ASSET CONSULTANT

Justin Hirtzel is a seismic data specialist who works with data managers in seismic brokerage businesses and in oil and gas companies. He applies his experience and geo-science technologies to help organize and streamline seismic information repositories.

Justin believes that capturing and cataloging seismic volume attributes and metadata are fundamental to understanding, and building, a valuable corporate database. Justin has more than 25 years of experience in various aspects of the seismic data lifecycle including acquisition, processing, interpretation, and management solutions.

Justin has a variety of industry experience that ranges from working onboard data acquisition vessels to interpreting and evaluating well log correlation and sub-surface geological mapping for oil and gas prospects. He has experience with various industry software including Landmark Graphics® solutions, SeisQuest Data Management tools, ArcMap and Exploration Archives. Justin has applied his expertise on projects with exploration and production companies including Schlumberger, Seagull Energy, Halliburton, and Anadarko Petroleum.

Justin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University and a Master of Science in Geology from San Jose State University. During his studies, he taught geology lab classes and participated in various research projects utilizing side-scan sonar and seismic data including investigations into beach re-nourishment resources and arc-continent collision processes.

Ronda Greene

GEOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL ASSET CONSULTANT
Ronda is a data expert who works with Weir Consulting clients and internal team members to catalog geophysical and geological data into centralized directories. She brings significant improvements to the search and retrieval of data stored online, near-line and offline.
With more than 25 years of experience, Ronda understands the importance of accuracy in cataloging data. She is the gatekeeper to the portal that clients use to find and use data. As she puts it, “You can’t use what you can’t find.” Ronda has impeccable competence in cataloging and knows that unobtainable data can translate into millions of dollars lost.
Ronda has held leadership roles with various companies including Ovation Data Services, Devon Energy, and IHS Markit Data Logic Services. She has worked on projects with major oil and gas companies such as Columbia Gas, ExxonMobil, Noble Energy and Anadarko Petroleum. For both onsite and offsite projects, Ronda created the procedures and directed the cataloging in accordance with client-specific directives. She has expertise in cataloging legacy data, from validating box contents to maintaining database records.
Ronda is trained and knowledgeable in well and seismic data management, warehousing best practices, statistical analysis and reporting, Oracle® and Windows® SQL® databases, and Exploration Archives™ data management application.

Jim Lammons

GEOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL ASSET CONSULTANT
Jim is a data migration specialist who organizes, distributes and maintains geophysical files, datasets and databases. Jim works with specialized equipment to extract, stage and distribute data to operating systems for geoscience teams.
Jim believes that well-defined procedures and continual improvements with technology are integral to managing large-scale data repositories. Monitoring storage capacity and investigating new tools and technologies is part of Jim’s approach to data management. His extensive experience and knowledge influences the development of client procedures for extracting and validating data from tape, optical, FTP/cloud or hard drives.
Jim has garnered more than 35 years of experience working with the evolving technologies and media types that span decades. He has executed multiple tape conversion projects, each consisting of more than 100,000 tapes of corporate, seismic and well data. He has experience recovering seismic data from all types of media for oil exploration and production companies including Hunt Oil Company, ExxonMobil and Anadarko Petroleum.
With his initial career ambitions in seismic processing and velocity analysis, Jim has a deep understanding of the data he manages. He has completed education courses and training in geophysics and geology. He has held lead positions with data management companies such as Iron Mountain (formerly Kestrel Data Management) and Katalyst (formerly Oil Data Inc.). Jim is currently with Weir Consulting on requisition through Alitek.

Matthew Henson

GEOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL ASSET CONSULTANT
Matthew Henson works directly with Weir Consulting clients and their databases to review and verify inventory and corresponding media. Matthew creates and facilitates smooth workflows for gathering and delivering data internally to geoscience teams. In addition, he is responsible for processing external requests for data reproduction by retrieving and remediating media for data orders.
Matthew recognizes data management as a key component for effective planning, executing, and finalizing a roadmap for success in the oil and gas industry. He believes that understanding the business goals of data management is essential for identifying efficiencies that assist geophysicists in finding oil and gas reserves.
Accommodating the transfer of data to multiple recipients requires collaboration within an organization. For accurate and efficient data deliveries, Matthew assesses each request and assigns specific tasks to the appropriate data specialist. He understands the data he works with, and adjusts to the specific procedures for each designated type of data request. To ensure quality data for the recipient, Matthew coordinates with industry vendors for tape transcription, data recovery, data scanning and vectorising.
Matthew is involved in the geosciences community and has worked with the Geophysical Society of Houston (GSH) and Houston Geological Society (HGS) to organize industry events.  Before joining Weir Consulting, Matthew was the Special Projects Manager and 2D Mapping Manager for Seismic Exchange, Inc. (SEI®). He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Houston.

Tim Crespy

GEOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL ASSET CONSULTANT
As a data management specialist, Tim coordinates the activities necessary to complete special projects for geophysical and geological data. Tim works directly with clients, seismic teams and vendors while coordinating projects across several field offices.
Tim believes the most important aspect of his role is supporting team involvement and managing business relationships with the regional geoscientist teams. Having fluid interactions and efficient procedures ensures predicable outcomes for special deliveries, requests and divestitures.
Tim has more than 30 years of experience in geophysical data management, primarily holding leadership roles. He has been responsible for all aspects of data projects from managing operational budgets to coordinating large-scale acquisitions and divestitures. Before joining Weir Consulting, Tim was the Team Advisor and Supervisor for projects with Devon Energy, including a 4-year remediation program. As the Geosciences Technical Centre Coordinator for Santa Fe Energy, Tim created and maintained an inventory database for geological and geophysical data, and coordinated a major offsite data transfer project.
As part of the Weir Consulting team, Tim has transitioned clients from heavy spreadsheet-based environments to using industry-leading seismic data management software. Tim has successfully implemented new procedures and software for managing and tracking outgoing data requests. Tim has formal training and extensive experience in geophysical data management.

Johnathan Steward

GEOLOGICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL ASSET CONSULTANT
Johnathan partners with our clients to revitalize their geophysical and geological data assets. He leads the strategic planning and implementation of processes and procedures for all aspects of data management.
Johnathan believes that the most important aspect of data management is maintaining data integrity throughout the data lifecycle. His strong background in data governance and quality standards is essential to managing the collaborative work of data management. While effective data management procedures are vital, knowing your data and the inter-repository relationships are necessary for addressing the unique challenges of each data delivery. Johnathan promotes a data culture and encourages teams to maintain an indepth knowledge of current and historical data. This approach ensures fluid integration of new data into our client systems.
Using quantifiable measures, Johnathan monitors the activity metrics and evaluates the procedures in place for continual improvement. As part of a client project, Johnathan updated their navigation procedures and reduced the time required by more than a half. Having experience in all roles of data management, Johnathan led the complete rewrite of a client’s seismic data management procedures, resulting in a successful documentation audit.
Johnathan has formal training and experience as an instructor and supervisor. He has completed major data projects that included hands-on remastering, developing and testing procedures, tape transcription and quality control. He has held technical roles with Kestrel, Schlumberger and Anadarko Petroleum. Johnathan is currently with Weir Consulting on requisition through Alitek.

Tammy Weir

FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT
Tammy is the founder and president of Weir Consulting and is responsible for strategic and operational planning. Tammy leads her team through multi-million dollar projects that involve creating data management procedures, improving the quality of geological and geophysical data, and auditing warehouse inventories. As an adviser to senior management of exploration companies around the globe, she provides direction for project budgets and proposal creation that result in measurable cost-savings.
With 30 years of experience working with geophysical and corporate data, Tammy is fiercely motivated to turn aging media and unmanaged data from being a liability to being the most valued asset for exploration companies. She understands that properly managed corporate records and geophysical data help people make better decisions, faster.
As a geoscience data expert, Tammy has held various leadership roles with companies such as Explora Seismic, Devon Energy, Katalyst and Kestrel. She is known for her motivational approach to project management and her ability to inspire collaboration across companies, corporate teams, vendors and partners.

Magdalena Gonzalez

Magdalena is a highly respected consultant for geophysical asset management. She has more than 30 years of experience working with domestic and international exploration and production (E&P) companies, managing contracts, resolving entitlements, and developing strategies to improve productivity.

Magdalena has held management and consultant roles for some of the largest oil and gas organizations globally, to develop and implement procedures, educate teams, and implement new strategies using innovative technologies. Magdalena has a contagious motivation to deliver successful solutions, especially with the most challenging data projects. The legacy of her solutions and documentation exist in areas such as contract management, seismic data management policies and procedures, microseismic data management, mineral no-permit zone management procedures, governance models and proprietary seismic methodologies.

As an expert user of several data management applications, including Exploration Archives™ and ArcGIS®, Magdalena’s seismic knowledge extends beyond data management. She is adept in geophysical data modelling and mapping, and is proficient in the related industry-leading software applications. Fluent in Spanish and English, Magdalena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management of Computer Information Systems.
